B-27 target for Shooting Proficiency Test

 

Texas LTC Course of Fire

​

Shooting proficiency will use the standard Texas LTC target (shown above).  There are two versions of this target shown, but whichever one is used, we will score using the 5-4-3 scoring system shown in the left (orange) target. 

 

Students must qualify with 175 of 250 possible points (70%) or better.

​

Stage 1:  20 shots will be fired from 3 yards

  • Load a five (5) round magazine

    • 1 shot in 2 seconds (repeat 5 times)

    • Clear and show safe / place handgun on bench
       

  • Load a ten (10) round magazine

    • 2 shots in 3 seconds (repeat 5 times)

    • Clear and show safe / place handgun on bench
       

  • Load a five (5) round magazine

    • 5 shots in 10 seconds

    • Clear and show safe / place handgun on bench

 

Stage 2:  20 shots will be fired from 7 yards

  • Load a five (5) round magazine

    • 5 shots in 10 seconds

    • Clear and show safe / place handgun on bench
       

  • Load a five (5) round magazine

    • 2 shots in 4 seconds

    • 3 shots in 6 seconds

    • Clear and show safe / place handgun on bench
       

  • Load a five (5) round magazine

    • 1 shot in 3 seconds (repeat 5 times)

    • Clear and show safe / place handgun on bench
       

  • Load a five (5) round magazine

    • 5 shots in 15 seconds

    • Clear and show safe / place handgun on bench

 

Stage 3:  10 shots will be fired from 15 yards

  • Load a five (5) round magazine

    • 2 shots in 6 seconds

    • 3 shots in 9 seconds

    • Clear and show safe / place handgun on bench
       

  • Load a five (5) round magazine

    • 5 shots in 15 seconds

    • Clear and show safe / place handgun on bench
